Stool-Chair Hybrid Swings into the Office

Driven crazy by a work colleague who constantly jiggles and shifts in his chair? Then don?t let them see the Muvman, because if they ever sit on one, they?ll jiggle the hell out of it.

The chair/stool is more of a comfy thing to lean on than an actual chair to sit on. You adjust the height, just like you would with an office chair, between 51cm and 84cm (20-33-inches) or 60cm and 93cm (24-37-inches) for the tall model. Lean back and park yourself in the contoured seat and you are supported, but the shaft can swing around, too, pivoting from the base. Thus you are always on the move, which keeps your blood pumping and your muscles moving as you work. It also stops you from hunching your back.

The Muvman looks like a very nice compromise between the spine-folding evils of a chair and the vegan, wholemeal option of a standing desk. Available now for around ?400 ($550).

Metro PCS Getting LTE Andriod Soon

Word is Metro PCS, who recently launched their LTE network are geared to release a phone that?s actually worth putting on a LTE network. The Samsung Indulge (formally the Forte) is a 1GHZ, 2.2 Android, Slider reportedly being released February 23rd. Priced at 399.99, you may gasp until you realize 60 bucks a month ain?t so bad. If you are the type who only buys a phone once every two years, compare that with a 4G plan from the big 4, then do the math and you may consider it. Then again if you are like me, you?d have it for a few months and then be ready to sell it? Sad I know but, Hooray for Metro PCS!

Google Docs update brings Collections, Priority Sort, and file previews

Your Google Docs dashboard just got a whole lot easier to use, thanks to a slew of new features. The update includes additional filtering options and Priority Sort -- sort of the Google Docs equivalent of Gmail's Priority Inbox. Priority Sort uses a number of signals to determine which files require your immediate attention. Folders have been replaced by Collections, which are a mashup of both folders and tags. Just as you can slap multiple tags on an email message in Gmail, your Docs files can reside in several Collections.

The preview pane -- which we told you about a little while back -- is now live as well. The preview pane shows thumbnailed images as well as a file's sharing settings and which collection(s) it belongs to. One other minor -- but extremely useful -- addition is keyboard-powered multiple selections. No longer do you have to check multiple boxes. Just hold down shift or control on Windows (as you would do in Explorer) or cmd on Mac.

As with other Google updates, this is being rolled out gradually -- so you'll have to wait patiently for your Docs interface to update to enjoy the new features.

Windows Phone 7 'phantom data' leaker unmasked as Yahoo Mail, fix due in 'coming weeks'

J'accuse... ! Remember the unnamed third party that Microsoft had found to be abusing 3G data on Windows Phone 7? Secret's out, and the culprit is none other than Yahoo Mail. According to a statement obtained by Microsoft guru Paul Thurrott, a fix is expected in the "coming weeks," but in the interim, you can mitigate the pain by going into settings and choosing less taxing options for "Download new content" and "Download email from" -- say, for example, "manually" and "the last 7 days," respectively. At least now you know exactly at whom you should wag your finger.

We know the Swype keyboard is pretty awesome. But try this on for size: Hank Torres, who is paralyzed from the shoulders down, set a world record with Swype and a head tracking device at the Assistive Technology Industry Association Conference in Orlando. The sentence he cranked out in 83.09 seconds?

?The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human.?

Amazon + Prime Subscribers = Netflix Style Streaming?

Let's be real here, trying to take on Netflix in the streaming media space is like, well, trying to take on Netflix in the streaming space. It's hard to imagine an upstart coming in and dethroning Netflix's growing business, but what about Amazon? No one in their right mind would describe Amazon as a Johnny Come Lately, and with the recent acquisition of LoveFilm -- the European equivalent of a Netflix -- Amazon has as good a shot at competing with Netflix as anyone, does it not?

We're not pulling this theory out of thin air, mind you. Someone sent a handful of screenshots to Engadget that shows an unlimited video streaming section for Prime members.

"Your Amazon Prime membership now includes unlimited, commercial-free, instant streaming of 5,000 movies and TV shows at no additional cost," one of the screenshots reads.

A Prime membership runs $79 a year, or about $6.58 per month. By comparison, Netflix's Watch Instantly package costs $95.88 a year, which makes this whole thing all the more interesting.

So how solid is the tip? Engadget says it was unable to view the unlimited option on any of its Prime enabled accounts, and neither were any of its readers. But for what it's worth, the tipster said the option had been removed from his account as well. Either this whole thing was bogus to begin with, or Amazon may have let the cat out of the bag ahead of schedule.
